No. It’s a better idea to buy inexpensive versions of these items abroad, as converters and adaptors can be expensive and some appliances (especially hairdryers, irons, and curling/straightening irons) can blow out fuses, burn up, and cause serious electrical problems in your apartments or homestays.

Most computers nowadays come equipped with internal transformers (these convert voltage to European or appropriate currency) and thus only require an adapter for overseas use. If you are unsure of your computer’s adaptabilities, please check with the company before coming to France. Adapters can be purchased inexpensively in Paris.
