French telephone service is more costly than American phone service; therefore most individual apartments are not pre-equipped with phone service. Students in homestays will need to make arrangements regarding telephone access with their host families.
Most students elect to purchase cellular phones “sans abonnement”, or without a contract. Cell phone companies offer pre-paid calling cards that are available at a variety of locations around the city. The cards can be purchased in different amounts or units. Cell phones can receive calls for free, but making calls is costly. This message has been edited. Last edited by: studyabroadcoord3, |
